| Real life raccoon picture from here |
Above it our inspiration board. We began with her making a drawing. She's been on a raccoon and skunk kick lately, so I bet the skunk will be what she wants next! We went through my stash and found some fleece material to use and she picked out the eyes.
Then I created a pattern, trying to keep it as close to her drawing as possible.
She didn't want to trace the pattern on the fabric this time, but she did sit on my lap and help with a little bit of sewing.

Bruno has been all over our yard and house since being made. Miss E (little sis) keeps trying to get him as well! Let's see if I can get in one this month. I'm hoping we can, but I cannot believe how busy this month has been! Please share if you made something with your little one last month :) I would love to see!

Thanks Jen! I will tell her you think so :) She is always so excited when I share her stuff on the blog and tell her what everyone says.
DeleteAwesome. That is one cute raccoon. (I think you forgot to give your helper credit in the title :) )
ReplyDeleteMiss E. I think you will be a designer just like your mom!
Oops! I didn't clarify very well :) It is my oldest, miss J, who designs and helps make it (I just added that to the post). Miss E is the baby, trying to get her hands on everything that belongs to big sis. Thank you so much :) I will tell her!
DeleteI really enjoy your blog. This is my first time commenting. I'm always sad when you have to take a break! :)
ReplyDeleteI have a 2 month old son and I can't wait for him to be big enough to imagine some creatures and draw them. It will be so much fun to make something from scratch like your adorable animals!
this is gorgeous! Cute idea. A friend of mine makes jewelry inspired by her children's drawings. Sometimes the kids are the best designers!
ReplyDeleteI could tell exactly what her drawing was before I did any blog reading! Great job Miss j!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could just come up with a pattern like that! We are sticking to puppet and puppet theater making. My daughter and I made a Winnie the Witch puppet, I only helped with the papermache and she did the rest. She made curtains for the theater, sewing on my machine for the first time, she was so excited. I love sharing my passion for crafting with my children, that's what my mum did with my sister and me and hopefully my girls will continue this tradition. Thank you for your inspirations!
ReplyDeleteThis is totally adorable! I love making things my son designs. Not that I could come up with this design as well as you did. I do want to learn to make stuffies more professional looking like this!
ReplyDeleteBruno is very nice!! I also made some toys by children drawings:
