Special Timing

Has something ever happened, that just happened at the perfect time, even though it was unplanned or maybe was suppose to happen sooner or later but didn't? I had that moment recently.

This past week my grandmother passed away. She was amazing, one of my favorite people in the whole wide world. The worst part wasn't her actual passing (because I know where she went: Heaven!!!! And I'll get to see her again. She's in no more pain, can see again, and has the amazing honor to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus), but having to know the suffering she went through her last few weeks of life is what really got to me. It could have been worse, but it's never easy to see or know that a loved one is going through a painful time.

Well, one of the days right before she passed I received a package in the mail. It was a day I was really down because my mom had told me that the only thing she could understand my grandma say was "help me". I just wanted to hop on a plane and go help somehow. But, I couldn't. Now I know it might seem silly, but the package in the mail helped me that day. It was full of super cute hair bows and pins from a lovely lady named Lisa.

She had tried to mail them earlier, but it didn't go through the first time. So even though they came later than anticipated, it was perfect timing. Receiving a sweet precious thoughtful gift in the mail for my daughter gave me a smile and reminded me of the amazing ways that God can use people. It helped make that bad day better.

Then, the day after my grandma passed I received another gift in the mail, totally unannounced from the lovely lady, Heather, behind Simple Analogy (See the first picture? that's the awesome journal she sent me!). Again, just another reminder of the love and kindness that people can operate in and not even know the impact they are making.

Receiving things might seem like an odd thing to have blessed me so much, but it is on of my love languages and it totally speaks to me.

So thank you so much ladies for bringing some light into my dark days and for being blessings. You never know when you are led to do something kind for someone the impact it will make on their lives. Even if it is just using your talents to make a little something for someone.

ps.... these were not given to promote their stuff to sell, but I would like to give them some recognition because they blessed me so much.
-Lisa doesn't have an online shop, but if you would ever like someone to make you some pretty hair bows, you can email her at zippyflowers@gmail.com
-Heather of Simple Analogy is also on Etsy here.

The Babies Are Coming!!!!!!!!!!

Ready or not......

Yellow Baby Cloche Hat

Lately there has been a little surge in the baby department. It tends to happen that way, doesn't it? So, I just had to make some things for some of these new and soon to be here little ones. I found this A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E crochet baby cloche hat pattern. Is it not the cutest thing ever????? And guess what? It takes no time at all (well, at least to a somewhat seasoned crocheter) and it is easy and only takes one small skein of yarn. Amazing. That is just what it is.

White Baby Cloche Hat

I liked it so much, I made two. I found it on Shannon's blog, luvinthemommyhood. It is by Annieliese of Aesthetic Nest. Let me tell you what, that lady is super talented. So much fun stuff over on her site!

Bibs and Cloths for baby gift

And you can never go wrong with whipping up some bibs and burp cloths. Everyone can use a ton of those. Funny how it seems to be all girl stuff huh???? Maybe I'll break that and have a boy? :) Well, not if my daughter has anything to say about it!

Project Run and Play

I am super honored to be one of the judges of a new and fun competition. It is called Project Run and Play and is a take off of Project Runway, blogger style, but for kids. There are a ton of amazing bloggers participating. I'm sure you will recognize them all :)

Even though there are judges, the participants are also judged by YOU. There is a voting poll for the audience to choose their favorite as well. Head on over if you like and check out all of the beautiful creations. The theme for this week was Winter Wonderland and boy, did these ladies outdo themselves!!!!!!

Just Can't Get Enough

Hey everyone :) Hope you are all doing good. I feel so distant right now! lol I think I might be seeing a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel with this morning sickness stuff. Thank you for all of your sweet wonderful comments! And to answer a question many of you asked, my daughter is doing extremely well with me being pregnant so far. I know it will be a different story when the baby is here, but she is so excited and wants a little sister. She and her daddy call the baby "bean" right now and it's just adorable.

Now for a little crafty/photography stuff. Before I started getting sick, I had a few dresses cut out. Then one day while my daughter was in school, I was determined to ignore how my stomach felt and sew one of them together.

She just loves pandas. I mean seriously. She just can't get enough! I saw the panda shirt at the store and knew it needed to be made into a dress for her.

I used the Sienna dress pattern for it.

I also used the photo opportunity to join in with Paint the Moon and her Let's Do 52 photo project. I figured if I can't sew too much, I'm sure I can take a few pictures here and there and work on my photography, right?

It's really fun. I missed the first week, but it's basically a photo a week for a whole year. She shares themes each week to help get your creative juices. I used the pictures from my daughter for the challenge which is another thing she throws in there. This week is what "What is your viewpoint?" to challenge you to try taking pictures from a lot of angles. She shares some great ideas on that here.

2/52: Togetherness

The week 2 photo theme was Togetherness or Metal. I chose togetherness and snapped a picture of my husband playing his guitar.

So that is that :) Have a fantastic day!
