New to Me Vintage Jewelry

IMG_1788internet

I have recently become the new owner to a lot of vintage and some new costume jewelry. It's a long story about how this happened, but I can say that I am so very excited about it.

There are so many lovely vintage pieces! I cannot wait to clean them up a bit and add them to my personal collection. I just adore vintage pins. You can use them in so many creative ways.

There were many pairs of earrings also. Some were missing the second earring and some are missing some jewels, but there are many I plan on wearing. The single ones will be perfect for crafts and I plan on repurposing many of these.

There are so many sparkly earrings! I love it :)

These are just some from a whole box full. I'm going to go through the necklaces and bracelets next. Be still my heart. Any other vintage jewelry lovers out there?

I took some vintage pieces and embellished a mirror. It really came out great! You can check it out here http://pinkadotquilts.blogspot.com/2011/11/bling.html
It was a lot of fun and a great use for some very cool jewelry.

Great items. I have some pieces from my Mom and Grandmother that I love. They are fun to find and I love seeing how people reuse them in great ways.

Hey there! I love your collection! I also have quite a collection that came from both of my great grandmothers and some from my grandmother. I should take pictures of them too. Anyways I had a question about the bottom set of pieces in picture #5. I have a very similar set of the wing like set. Do you think those are earrings.....I've wondered if they might be shoe clips or something.

I had a necklace pennant just like the bottom picture that was a gift from my great-grandmother. She always called it an "aurora borealis," I guess because it sparkled like the Northern Lights. Enjoy your new treasures!

What a great score you managed! :) I don't mind the odd vintage piece myself. A little while ago my mother gave me a necklace and earring set that her parents gave her back in about '56... I wore the necklace for my wedding in 2001 - yep we are about to celebrate 10 years! :)
Have fun cleaning and creating with your stash.
