Winter Hat
The sun was kind of out the first two hours of our trip, so I crocheted this hat for myself.
I used this pattern and this yarn in Fisherman.
It only took one skein! I didn't make the front flap part in the pattern though. If I had wanted that, I would have needed more yarn.
I'm so happy with how it turned out. I'm not a big hat person, but I needed something to keep my head warm.
I recommend the pattern. It was really easy to do.

Gift Bags for It All
Instead of doing all the plastic bag fusing, I used black out material (for going behind curtains) that I had on hand. I'll admit, I was lazy and didn't have that many plastic bags on hand either. I had bought the material for only $3 a yard during a super sale at JoAnn's and had a huge roll of it that I wasn't using. It is very easy to sew and it doesn't fray at all.
I chose to focus on three words to go on them: Peace, Joy, Love. I chose these because I feel they have a lot to do with Christmas.
The fabric I used was all fat quarters from JoAnn's. I love those because then when my daughter is ancy I can just grab some and go. No waiting in line to get some fabric cut. I used felt for the letters.
I was in a hurry to finish, so I used hemp/twine string for the handles. I wrapped two pieces together, glued them on two places on the inside front (and then another 2 on the back). Then I glued on a piece of felt to cover up the glue and string ends.
I added some pom poms and felt embroidered ornament things I made to handles.
"8And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christa]">[a] the Lord. 12This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."
13Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14"Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."
Luke 2:8-14

For the Coffee Drinkers
These two were crocheted. I used this pattern but just used one color instead of the many it does.
For the rest, I just made my own pattern from a cardboard coffee sleeve from a coffee place. I made the pattern longer though, because I used velcro to keep them closed.
They are two layers of fleece with hand embroidery. I sewed the ends with a sewing machine for extra strength.

Guest Blogging Tutorial and Shop Announcement
I share how to make this super easy quick pot holder dish towel from dollar store and on hand items. I saw some of these at a craft show and thought they were super cute (they sold really well too). I really love it because it keeps the dish towel on the stove handle. My little one always rips those things off when running by and now she won't because she will have to stop and undo it to be able to. Check it out here.
And might I say, others are on the same track of thought as me! Right after I did this tutorial and sent it to Heather, I saw two other bloggers making the same thing! Great minds think alike :)
Shop Announcement:
Tomorrow night my Etsy shop will be "closed" for a Christmas break. I will still be able to email the Octopus pattern if bought, but that is it. Speaking of, how cute is this octopus made by DistantPickles (from the Happy Together Flickr Group)?
I plan on making a ton more of those headbands to put in the shop at the beginning of the year and I also have a few patterns almost finished!!!! Whoo hoo! Be on the look out for some great things in the new year.
I will still be posting, as I have quite a few things still to share (see, what you do is do a lot at one time and then slowly show everything and everyone thinks you do so much :).

Second, here are a few freezer paper stenciled shirts I have done for Christmas presents.
This one is for my brother who is in the processing of obtaining his masters. ODU is the college he is attending. I used the idea from these onesies I made based on Dana's.
This is for my husband's father, who is my daughter's "Dido." It is Ukranian for grandfather. I let my daughter make the handprints on this one and the next two. It was messy, but it's cute.
We made this one for my husband.
And lastly, this one is for my dad, my daughter's "Papa." Her grandpa.

And Everything Nice
And Everything Nice: A little girl with flowers
The color for this theme is purple.
I made the dress for my daughter from an old shirt of mine. I simply shirred the back and cut the shoulder straps so they could tie.
I wish I had another completely plain shirt to go under this to make it look a little better, but it's still cute. I like how the front dips down low. It reminds me of some of the skirts/dresses that have the fabric that go up to right under the chest area.
The headband is up in the shop here. It is covered with purple ribbon,
then accented with fleece and felt flowers.
It can fit a child and an adult.

Spice
Spice- A girl playing with spices
The color focus of this project was green.
I used an old fleece shirt I had from Old Navy to make this top for my daughter.
Unfortunately, the photo shoot wasn't so successful because it's been rather hot here lately and she was not happy being in fleece in the sun.
It is based on an adult shirt I saw somewhere and had to make for her. I blanket stitched the edges of the front pockets and around the neck scarf piece. I designed this pattern just for her. It's a bit big right now, so I might take it in a little bit.
The headband is covered in a green ribbon. It has a scalloped piece of off white felt with embroidered edges on top, which has beautiful green and off white felt flowers. Some have vintage buttons/beads in the middle.
It is up for sale in the shop.
It can fit an adult and a child's head.
