Gobble Gobble Dress

By a pumpkin

We had a wonderful little Thanksgiving this year. It was just us for the first time, so it was a bit different. But we had a lot of fun. My husband smoked a turkey and we made all kinds of things like sweet potato biscuits, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, etc... This little turkey dress was for my daughter to wear. It was also my last entry for the S.Y.T.Y.C. contest, which I am no longer a part of.

Thankful

I'm pretty relieved that I didn't make it through. It gives me more time to finish up Christmas gifts and other obligations I have on my plate.

I will stand still if I can have something of yours mommy

It was really simple to make. Maybe I will do the tutorial at the beginning of the year.

I love the little doily pocket. When I brought this out to photograph for the first time, my daughter just kept saying it was beautiful. It blessed my heart so much to know she likes what I make her.

Doily Pocket

The neck was inspired by the turkey feathers. It's three different colors all ruffled up like the turkeys back feathers.

Reflections

Have a blessed day everyone!

Enough already!

  1. The dress is even cuter on your daughter! I'm sorry about the SYTYC results (I was pulling for you!), but you have the right attitude: more time and less stress now!

  4. Hi! So I thought I had just learned about you from the SYTYC competition, but it turns out that months ago I found the cute upgraded scarves tutorial you did and knew about you already!

Just wanted to tell you that your blog is fantastic and so are your tutorials and you did so great in the competition. I know you're relieved about being done with it, but I think if you would have posted pictures of your sweet angel in the dress then you still be in the competition. It was hard to imagine such a grown up looking dress on a real little girl, and now that I can see how cute it is, I don't think you deserved to go!

    Merry Christmas!

  8. I like that dress, its more of a winter dress and you tend to only get summer dresses.

  11. I thought that was such an adorable dress, and can definitely see the possibilities for every holiday. The collar is particularly sweet.

I share your sentiments too about the contest. I'm drowning in Christmas preparations, so I know my entry this week won't be so great.
